The Black Plum is oval and about 1 to 2 centimeters in length. It is dark purple to black in color, fleshy and one-seeded, with a tart, sweet-astringent taste. Best enjoyed with rock salt and a squeeze of lemon. Eating this tropical fruit often leaves a dark violet stain on one’s tongue.
