Norwegian Salmon, Whole Fillet

1,950.00 per kilo

Norwegian Salmon Fillets are favored for their high oil content which produce rich flavor and are convenient to use because bones and trimmings are removed. They can be fried, baked, broiled, sautéed, poached and can even be served as sashimi.

Salmon are closely monitored to guarantee that only pure, completely safe fish—free of disease, dyes and toxins—make it to your table.

To better utilize resources, the marine life used in salmon feed comes from sustainable stocks of fish species that are not suitable for human consumption. In addition, vegetable oils have been added to the feed to reduce the strain on limited marine resources.

Please note: Our salmon fillet weighs heavier than 1 kilo, and may reach as much as 2 kilos depending on their size. When you order this item, please note that the final weight to be charged depends on the actual weight of the whole fillet. Our salmon fillet will be delivered to you whole and vacuum-packed.

The UN food and agriculture organisation (FAO) has estimated that 70% of the fish population is already fully used, overused or in crisis. The best solution to relieving fishing pressure and the problem of declining fisheries is for governments across the globe to rebuild overexploited stocks and ecosystems, improve fishing exploitation patterns, and protect the habitat and use of protected areas and no-take zones (WWF).
Given the rapidly plummeting decrease in global fish supply, we have chosen to procure farmed salmon from Norway.
Living Conditions
Farm-raised salmon has been negatively portrayed in the media, but it’s important to understand that not all farm-raised salmon is the same. Norwegian aquaculture industry sets the standard for high-quality, safe and sustainably farmed salmon.
Norwegian law requires that salmon make up less than 2.5% of an aquaculture facility’s volume. That means each spacious facility is made up of 97.5% water to allow for maximum comfort and a healthy growth cycle.
Norwegian salmon are fed an all?natural diet comprising both raw vegetable and raw marine material like fish oil and fish meal from wild fish, plus vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, guaranteeing an even better-tasting fish harvested with sustainability and health in mind. Each kilogram (2.2 lbs.) of salmon requires approximately 1.2 kilograms (2.7 lbs.) of fish feed.
In Norway, the use of antibiotics is strictly monitored: All medicines have to be approved by relevant authorities; they may only be used when specific diseases are diagnosed, and certified veterinarians sign all prescriptions. Treated salmon must be placed in quarantine before the salmon is allowed to be sold. The intention behind the quarantine is to give time for the organism to clear out all residues of the medicine before being sold. Norwegian Salmon is controlled according to EU regulations for veterinary residues. Recent results document that Norwegian Salmon is perfectly safe and healthy to eat.
