One of the few beers to bear the Authentic Trappist Product label, Rochefort 10 is a classic among Belgian Abbaye Beers. Brewed by the Abbaye de Rochefort, Rochefort 10 remains unchanged since the 1950s.
Deep mahogany with a fleeting tan head, Rochefort 10 is bursting with sweet cocoa and plum malts, and an intensity that defies description. The rich, smooth, pleasingly alcohol-infused body is packed with caramel plum tones and a spicy, elegantly bitter hops character that offset the sweetness, delivering a rewardingly aromatic finish.

A traditional Belgian quadrupel, the Rochefort “blue cap” is one of the few remaining true Trappist beers. At 11.3 percent, this beer is malty and dark, with hints of plum and apricot at colder temperatures, and a complexity that only expands the closer this beer gets to true cellar temperature. A slow-sipping beer with the complexity of a fine scotch or wine, this beer has scored a perfect 100 on Rate Beer and is deemed “world class” by Beer Advocate.
Character, Tastes & Aromas
Dominant impressions of latte coffee with powerful chocolate aromas in the nose. The alcohol esters are enveloped with hints of autumn wood, citrus zest (orange, lemon) and freshly baked biscuits. The initial taste is sweetly sinful. Beer and chocolate trapped into one single glass, a liquid milky draught with a backbone of bitter malt. The alcohol warms the throat and, in the finish, you will pick up traces of cloves, citrus, orange and mocha.
