If you are anything like us, the sight of a cockroach is enough to send chills down one’s spine. And there is no fear quite like seeing a cockroach poised for flight. Yikes! They are undoubtedly one of the most repulsive insects you’ll find crawling in your home.
Cockroaches are quite resilient, but did you know that you can help eradicate the sight of these scavengers with the use of a kitchen spice?
It’s true, your trusty Bay Leaf used for soups and stews is a powerful cockroach repellent.
In areas such as the kitchen where food is stored, bay leaves are a safe, non-toxic alternative to chemical bug sprays and poisons.
Cockroaches hate the smell of bay leaves, making them an excellent all-natural repellant! Just place bay leaves around all the corners of your house, particularly in areas with food, such as your kitchen. It’s also a good idea to put them in your garden. You can use dried or fresh bay leaves, although it’s recommended that you use dried, crushed bay leaves since they’ll give off the strongest scent.
To get rid of cockroaches entirely, make sure you eradicate all food supply, eliminating damp hiding places and drying up still water. Food should always be stored in sealed containers and dirty dishes cleaned and put away.
